I just got a text from my dad - who is a high school guidance counselor - with this picture and the caption ‘You should be proud of our educational system’

GUESS WHAT CAME TODAY, GUYS! I’m going to get so fat because all I’m going to want to do is fill this thing up with cookies (and then eat them, of course).

However:

a) Oh good lord it makes the TARDIS noises when you close it, and it’s already super annoying and THERE’S NO WAY TO TURN IT OFF. I mean, I love a good TARDIS landing noise as much as the next girl, but… after a while… you just want to eat a cookie in peace.
b) The nice people at ThinkGeek apparently don’t know how to properly pack a TARDIS cookie jar, because every time you moved the package it came in, the lid would open and then the TARDIS noise would go off. I’m pretty sure it scared the hell out of my roommate who picked it up, and I’m sure the UPS guy had a really great time riding around with it all day.

Basically, it’s the start of a beautiful relationship.

Reason #932 my roommate is way cooler than yours: THIS was her birthday gift to me. A secret compartment book she made for me to look like River Song’s, which then opened up to contain this gorgeous TARDIS necklace! I cannot even begin to tell you just how amazing this is. She’s the absolute best!!

OH GOD this actually got made over at Threadless! This is officially a real shirt you can buy! I might have to buy myself an early birthday present……

Remember The Way Station, the wonderful, magical bar I told you about a few weeks ago? Well when we went last night (to have a toast for Melody Pond, as well as lamenting the fact that we have to wait until September now for more Who episodes) I discovered they recently repainted the bathroom (you know, the one that’s a life-sized TARDIS) and it’s lovely! We’ve got the 4th Doctor and scarves and Weeping Angels and Daleks and Cybermen and K-9! It wraps around the whole bathroom and it’s fantastic. Sorry about the crap photos, I only had my cell phone camera.

In honor of Day of the Moon last weekend my roommate and I baked (and by my roommate and I baked, I mean my roommate baked and I watched) Dalek & TARDIS cupcakes! Sure, the Daleks don’t reeeeeally look like Daleks but it’s the thought that counts. And we made up for it by giving the TARDIS cupcakes a golden heart in the middle!
