Very interesting article on the decline of episodic television. It’s easy to praise shows for taking a measured, slow approach to how they present their stories, but frankly it’s starting to get a little boring and the payoffs feel either anticlimactic or undeserved. You either have to do it incredibly well, or not at all. (I’m looking at you, AMC shows that are not Mad Men or Breaking Bad)
